Are food and drinks provided on private charters with Odyssey Sportfishing?

Accepted Answer

There will be water and snacks available onboard. Any other food and drinks can be brought on board in a small cooler. Space is limited so please take that into consideration.

Is there a restroom available on the boat?

Accepted Answer

Yes, even though we are a smaller vessel there is a private head available on board. we always recommend using the restroom before shorter trips.

What if I get seasick?

Accepted Answer

We recommend that if you get any kind of motion sickness (or not sure) that you take a Bonine or Dramamine the night before your trip or at the latest one hour prior to trip departure.

Is gratuity included in the price?

Accepted Answer

No gratuity is not included in the price of your charter. While gratuity is NEVER required it is greatly appreciated by your captain and crew. Catching is never guaranteed, but your captain will use all of his skill and knowledge to make the for the greatest experience possible. Feel free to show your gratitude by providing what your feel is deserved.

Do I need to wear a personal floatation device (life vest) on a private charter vessel?

Accepted Answer

Passengers under the age of 14 are required by law in California to wear a PFD. Life vest are provided on board for children. Adult life vests are also available, but are USCG approved type 1, and are not great to fish in. If customers prefer wearing a vest while on board please contact Captain Daniel and arrangements can be made.

Are charter boats in Dana Point Safe?

Yes, the Second Chance is one of the safest platforms around for private charter in Dana Point. Equipped with state of the art electronics, automatic bilge pumps, alarm systems, and all the safety gear required by the US Coast Guard. Everything on board is regularly maintained, serviced ,and replaced six months before expiration (flares and fire extinguisher). Captain Daniel goes over all safety equipment and their location before each trip so that customers are familiar.
