Islands
Explore shores offshore
Fishing at Catalina and San Clemente Islands can be exciting. Both offer unique experiences, landscapes, and abundance of fish species to target. Many of the same target species as our inshore trips, with better shots at larger game species around every reef. Targeting yellowtail is our main goal when venturing out here, but some world class rockfish, white seabass and halibut fishing are also right around every corner. Island trips can turn into an offshore trip quickly if summer time pelagics are found on the way.
Yellowtail
Seriola Dorsalis
Excellent table fair and some of the hardest fighting fish pound for pound in our waters. You wont be mistaken when hooking into one of these especially if cover is near by. This species is notorious for taking you right into the reef and breaking you off if not prepared.

Pacific Bonito
Sarda lineolata
These fish are nick named Laguna Tuna and for goof reason. This fish in the tuna family is hard fighting, that nature makes them a blast to catch on light gear and even fly rods when abundant. Their bad rap table fair wise is a myth and when taken care of properly they are some of our favorite to enjoy crudo/sashimi (raw).
