About Your Captain
Welcome to Odyssey Sportfishing! I'm Captain Daniel LaBarbera, operator of the Second Chance. My goal is to share my lifelong passion for fishing with you. Growing up in Dana Point, the ocean has always been a part of my life, and I'm grateful for the chance to connect with this amazing community. I started my fishing carrier as early as I can remember. Things really got serious in my middle school years in the way of a kayak. Being dropped off in Dana Point harbor to spend most of my summer days. As soon as I was driving, that kayak and I traveled from the Eastern Sierra chasing trout, to La Jolla targeting yellowtail and white Seabass. Shortly after high school I purchased my first skiff, an eighteen foot center console with a hole in it (that was a fun learning experience). I took that skiff everywhere from remote Baja to the California Delta. I have competed in saltwater bass tournaments successfully, and that passion for targeting fish on artificial lures has crossed over into my charter fishing business. Join me on this journey as we explore the waters together and make unforgettable memories!
About the Boat
Paker 2520XL
The Second Chance is a Parker 2520XL with an overall length of 34ft and 9.9ft beam. This platform provides a stable ride, with the comfort of a pilot house to keep passengers out of the elements while traveling. A private on board Head and fresh water wash-down provide comfort for everyone on board. Everything on this vessel has been upgraded from its original form to ensure the safety and comfort of passengers. A new Suzuki 350 horse power outboard motor, Garmin electronics, complete re-wire and pacific edge bait system have been added. A full function upper helm station provides a higher vantage point for offshore fishing.
